Quality of Toys

Maybe a bit off topic for this site but I am in the middle of christmas shopping and I realize that toy stores like toys r us just sell garbage. Really the toys there are throw away there are very few toys there that i think could hold the attention of a child without breaking. All of the toys seem to be made of cheap plastic and manufactured in china?

What are the good toys now and where have all the good toys gone?

My folks still have many of the toys I had when I was a child back in the 60's and 70's.

They're either made of wood or they're board games.

My son, now 9, loves to play with them!
